GPS Units

I got an early birthday present. I got it before our trip to Oklahoma. I always like electronic gadgets.

I got a Garmin GPS unit.

It is about the coolest toy I ever got. It's unbelievable everything it can do. It talks to you, knows and displays every street in the USA. It can find every restaurant, hotel, gas station, store etc. and tell you how to get there with turn by turn directions. It has a MP3 player, picture viewer with slideshow and I'm still learning everything it can do.

Now I won't get lost going to work.

Saturday

Yesterday, Carol & I drove to Wagoner, Oklahoma to buy an Aliner Sportliner Camper.

I found it on Craigslist in Tulsa, OK. I talked to the owner several times with thousands of questions. He did not have any way to send me pictures. It sounded great, just what we wanted. A newer Aliner, not too expensive, and with several options.

After all our conversations Thursday night he called me. He said there was one thing he forgot to tell me. Someone had previously backed into the camper and broke the taillight. He had it repaired and everything was ok. I figured "No Problem". Yesterday we drove about 375 miles to go buy this camper.

When we get there I see that the whole right rear corner was damaged. It was repaired but not very well. After going over it for 45 minutes I said "No Thanks" and we drove 375 miles home. A lesson learned.

"A Gathering of A-Frames"

We went on our first Aliner rally in Springfield, IL. It was called

"A Gathering of A-Frames".

During the open house Saturday we had a great time showing our
"Old 88 model".

My wife really liked this "cute" Alite

There also was this huge A-Frame:

We got to see so many different models and styles it was good info for future reference. (My wife thinks we are buying a newer model. She is probably right)

We are new to this and our hosts, John, Jan and Wendy were great. They went above and beyond taking care of everything.

We had a great dinner Friday night, and a wonderful breakfast Saturday morning.

We met a lot of very nice people.

I'm sorry that I didn't get pictures of everybody except this group photo.

We had a very informative D.I.Y. session on installing an awning.

We got to look at the stars and planets with an unbelievable telescope and got a lesson in Astronomy.

And we even had a pool party.

This was a great weekend and I'm sure we will have more. Thanks to all!

Carol's new look!

I don't know what the big deal is with a little grey hair. I've been bald and grey for a very long time.

Sunday

Another great day today, except I lost in poker. It was so hot today, 99 degrees, we decided to stay in. We ate good and had a good time.

Saturday's Bar-B- Que

We had a nice time yesterday. It was a little warm but it is summer time.

Monday

Today Carol put together a vase of flowers she took from our garden. She does this all the time during the Spring and Summer and then takes them to work.
