Gathering of A-Frames in Nauvoo, IL
We just attended a gathering in the intense heat. Upper 90's with high humidity. Too hot to be camping. The good thing was the A/C in the camper worked great. We had it in the 60's most of the time.

Nauvoo IL is a historic town for the Mormons along the Mississippi river. We stayed in Nauvoo State Park. We got to go to a couple of shops including an antique shop, oh boy!
We had a theme meal, mexican. It was great but too much food!
We had a good time seeing our friends but it was just too hot. This picture from my phone tells the story for the whole weekend. 95 with a heat index of 112.

Hawn State Park, Missouri
We spent a few days at Hawn State Park. A very nice, small campground. Only a few spots with electric and they are hard to come by. Paved sites in among the trees.

We made a short trip to Ste. Genevieve to check out the sites. Carol loved it:

The campground had a lot of pop-ups and tent campers. So our little Aliner was a hit. We had to give several tours. One lady even asked if she could take a picture, complete with tripod.

The weather was great, sunny and cool. That lasted until Saturday night. A big storm rolled in with an hour of heavy rain, thunder, lightning and hail. The campground is down in a valley so our smartphone, laptop with air card, TV, etc. were useless. We aren't used to being totally out of communication.
We made it though the storm but several tent campers did not.

Aliner Painting
2011 "Aliner Owners Club" North American Rally

I just attended (and worked a little) an Aliner Owner's Club national rally. It was held near Sparta, Illinois at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex. A huge campground and a nice event center complete with restaurant and bar.
It was a great time. Lots of different things to do, things to see, people to visit. There was a little over 100 A-Frame campers. A cool site to see so many together.
Columbia Northwest brought 7 new Aliners for us to look at and check out. Carol likes the new Titanium Expedition with "Queen Bed".

Carol didn't go with me but she bought me nukeable food so I wouldn't starve. Most were not good but I survived. Luckily several meals were provided.
