Texas Trip 2023

 Texas Trip 2023

We started a little later this year hoping for warmer weather.

Besides a couple travel days, our first stop was Waco, Texas.

We stayed at the Midway Campground that the Corps runs on Waco Lake. Nice, cheap and close to town.

Of course the reason we go to Waco is to visit Magnolia.  Nice place as always.

Our next stop was Fitz RV in Dripping Springs, Texas. This is a new campground. A lot of hilly and curvy roads to get there. Nice place with good views. The first place that gave me a router for our stay to connect with their WiFi, It worked good streaming.

The reason to go to Dripping Springs is to visit the Pearlstein's. Always a great time.

Our next stop was a different kind of campground, the McShane Ranch, Stockdale Texas. We park by the barn. Includes visits from their horse and mini cow.

I was good visiting with my sister Delores and her family. We ate good and had a great visit.

Next stop was Texas 281 RV Park in Bulverde Texas. We've been here before and it's not the best. But it's what we could get to visit San Antonio.

Visited James Avery for some bling for Carol's birthday.

This stop was to visit Carol's brother and family. We had a great time. A lot of good food.

The next stop was Gulfwaters Beachfront RV Resort in Port Aransas. I think this is our 5th year here. Very nice place. We had 2 different spots and stayed here 5 weeks. The weather was good. Warm and windy.

Our second site:

Before the trip we found a couple used Rad Power bikes at a very good price. These are small bikes with fat tires. They work good on the beach. I went there several times a day.

After 5 weeks at the beach we started our long trip home. It's always good to go on a trip but it's also good to be back home.

  1. Nice post! Lots of great pictures! My son lives in Dallas, so we do travel to Texas from time to time. We also visited The Silos (Magnolia) awhile back. I thought the store was really expensive! Port Aranas looks really nice! I tried to subscribe to your blog, but I just got a page of gobbly guck. I bookmarked it though, so I can find it easily. I see you have Aliner posts. Five years ago, we talked seriously of getting an Aliner. I'm glad we didn't and got the large Micro Lite instead. I'll check out some of your older posts, too. Sometimes I do that when watching the Cardinal games. Especially these days!
