Pere Marquette State Park, Grafton IL

We just spent 4 days camping at Pere Marquette State Park with friends. The weather looked a little iffy but it turned out great. Sunny and wonderful.

Two years ago we camped here and the bugs were bad. Right after that we bought a screen room for the Aliner and we needed it this weekend. It worked out good.

The Illinois River & the Mississippi River were both in flood stage but they had gone down enough for us to get to the campground. We had reservations in two weeks for Caryle Lake but the Corps cancelled them The lake is so high the campgrounds are flooded.

We got some bike riding in too.

You never know what you will find while out bike riding.

We had a great time.

Gathering of A-Frames, Rend Lake April 2011

We attended an Aliner Rally this past weekend. The weather was great, sunshine, blue skies, and temps in the upper 80's.

We did not just pose, we rode our bikes. Love those hills!

An awesome detailed birdhouse!

The spaces at this campground are so big it's hard to get a picture of all the Aliners. We had about 20.

It was a great weekend. The weather was good, the food was excellent and the people are awesome.

Carol the microwave Queen!

Carol made dinner tonight using 3 microwaves. We have the built-in over the stove. Three years ago we bought a small microwave for the camper but Carol decided she could use a second one in the kitchen. This week I bought another one for the camper but Carol decided she could use it too. Check this video:



As you can see below the dinner was great! She is good.

Aliner Wind Kit

Since we have been known to have a problem or two camping I decided to get Chris Mendola's wind kit. I installed it today. Hopefully it will never be tested to see if it works.







I still have to clean it up and round the ends better but it's on.

Carol's Birthday

Not a real exciting birthday. We went to Olive Garden and then watched a video.

Kevin's Birthday

We celebrated Kevin's birthday two days early. Hard to believe he is that old!

Craig's art at Soulard Art Market

One of Craig's paintings was selected to be in a showing at Soulard Art Market. Tonight was the opening reception. A good crowd and a good time.

The last two years the Aliner spent the Winter in the garage. This year I got a new car, so the GMC stays inside. Last October I parked the Aliner in the driveway and covered it. Today it got to almost 50 so I was thinking of Spring. I uncovered it and put it up. Everything is ok. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and getting out. 69 days until the first scheduled camping trip.
