Montauk State Park

We just spent a few days at Montauk, near Salem Missouri, camping in the Aliner. Montauk is a big trout fishing area.

This was a do-it-yourself, unofficial Gathering. We had nine Aliners and one Chalet. Of course the best thing was the people. It is always good to see our friends at these events.

The weather was typical for Missouri in August, low 50's to upper 70's. Yea right, but it was wonderful. Actually it was cold this morning, must of been upper 40's. I wouldn't know. This place is in the boonies. We had no TV, no cell phones, no Internet. I think I was having withdrawals.

We visited, played games, and just enjoyed the company.

We even had two Interior Designers discussing fabric, carpet and curtains. I heard talk of a new TV show, "Pimp My Aliner".

We had good food including Jan's cobbler made in Dutch ovens, two nights. Boy, was that good!

A few went to the Lodge for dinner. They said the food was good.

One of our group was trying to sell his Aliner but I don't think he had any takers.

We had some unexpected visitors, too.

We also did a lot of bike riding.

We are looking forward to the next time we get together.
