Back Home
We made it back home from our Texas trip. Drove 2,265 miles and averaged 21.7 MPG with the GMC Terrain. I think the EPA rating is 22 highway and 18 city. I guess it was ok.

Kevin's new car
Kevin decided that his 1998 S-10 pickup with 195,000 miles had to go. He bought a Buick. I thought old people bought Buicks.

Broken bracket
Last weekend I broke a bracket on one of the flip up tables. Ordered a new one Tuesday and it was here Friday. It's all taken care of. Ready for our next trip. But it looks like that will be next Spring before the next outing. Too much going on.

Carlyle Lake, Boulder Illinois
We just returned from a trip to Carlyle Lake. The weather forecast was beautiful. Sunshine and blue skies all weekend.
Thursday, when we got there we had a spot right on the lake. Awesome!
The wind was blowing about 25-30 MPH. Not unusual for Carlyle Lake. We set up and waited for the wind to die down. It never did. Too windy to do much. No campfire, no relaxing looking at the lake. But we did have a beautiful sunset.
Friday was a little better. We made the usual trip to Walmart. It seems every time we going camping we have to make a trip to Walmart.
We were able to get a bike ride in, sat in the sun, and even had a campfire at night.
Saturday we had rain and windy weather. Not exactly the weekend forecast.
Saturday was just a nasty, cold, windy day. The wind blew all night. But we managed to have a good time.
And we had more sunsets.
Today we packed up and came home. Carol still says she loves going to Carlyle.
