Camping at Carlyle Lake

We are back at Carlyle Lake again, Dam West Campground. This new trailer continues to be great. So glad we made the leap to a bigger trailer. The weather is great so far except for the 30 MPH winds all day, but that's typical for Carlyle.
We are relaxing, bike riding and eating good. What more could we want.

Today is Tuesday and the campground is almost full. We have to leave Thursday, no room. To get reservations for Memorial weekend you have to book 6 months in advance.  

Today we tried out the inflatable kayak. We went to the beach with it because we weren't sure of how we would do. It worked out good, except we decided we were better off doing it alone instead of two in the boat. But it worked and it was all good.

When we got back to the campsite we found a spot across the street that was open until Saturday. We were supposed to leave tomorrow. So we undid everything, hooked up and moved across the street. So now we have a couple more days here. 

Another beautiful day. Our first thing today was to go to Walmart so I could get some new underwear. I packed for a few days and we ended up staying longer.

Today we just messed around, rode bikes and relaxed. Ate good too! Just what I wanted to do.

We had a great time, on this trip. Enjoyed getting together with the Schleyhahn's, Lampey's, and the Snyder's. 

Too bad we had to leave, but we will be back soon.

Brown County State Park, Indiana

We just returned from a nice few days camping. Our new camper continues to be great. Very happy we made the switch to a "real camper". This trip is an annual outing by friends of ours, Fred & Vicki Evans. This year the Gathering of A Frames joined in with a rally.

We had a great time and it was good to see our friends that we hadn't seen in a while. We are looking forward to our next trip, coming up soon!

Camping at Carlyle Lake, IL

We just spent seven days at Carlyle Lake in the new Coachmen Catalina. Everything was great. No problems. Adjusting to where everything is and checking out all the systems. We picked a site with full hookups for this trip so we could test all the things and be sure all worked. It's easy to see how full hookups have an advantage over just electric that we usually stay in. The weather was good. Some rain but nothing major. We had enough sun to get burned.

We did a lot of bike riding and relaxing.

Pfeil's visited Monday night and we went out for dinner. Kevin came Friday and spent the day and stayed overnight. He got lots of sun and did some bike riding.

This was a good trip and now we look forward to the next one. It won't be long.
