Carlyle Lake, Dam West Campground

We were able to get a trip in before they close the campground for the season.

It was great to get out. I have been at home too much since my last chemo and stem cell transplant. I finally felt good enough to go. We didn't do much. Hang out, visit, read, a little walking and even a little bike riding. 

The weather was not the best. Most of the 9 days we were out, it was cloudy and cool. Sometimes cold. Some rain. 

But it was all ok.

Good food as usual.

It's amazing how many campers decorated their sites for Halloween. 

We stayed at the campground until they closed for the winter. The last night I think there were 6 campers. We were told to be out by noon Nov 1. We made it out with a little time to spare. 

    We have reservations already for opening day next year, March 30, 2018.

Total Eclipse

     Today was total eclipse day. Some people have been talking about this for a long time. We didn't get glasses until about 2 hours before it started, our neighbors had extras. Very nice of them.

      

  It was weird, but pretty cool. It got dark enough that that lights came on, etc.

Now that was a MoonShadow!

My Birthday

Turned 66 today. It didn't start out the best, we had to go to Siteman Cancer Center this morning. 

But things got better. The kids and Capone came over.
We had a great meal.

My favorite pie, Key Lime!

Got an awesome new gadget. A security flood light with siren and video camera. I love gadgets and this one is great.

Coles Creek, Carlyle Lake, IL

Had a week between Doctor visits so we packed up and went to the lake. We had a nice spot on the lake. 

The weather was good. Most of the week we had below normal temperatures and one day we had a few sprinkles, no complaints.

Sunsets are always good on this side of the lake.

The food was good as always.

We did a little bike riding too.
